Good morning
How was your weekend? Did anybody do anything special?😈😛 Probably not. Never mind, at least this is a time we will never forget ...
-Today we will finish unit 6 with the writing section. The writing we will practise in this unit is "Informative Essay".
1. Open your Student's Book on page 84 and read the sample essay. (There is another example on page 171)
2. Think of an issue you may find interesting to write about. Here are some suggestions:
-You might like to write about something connected to technology, like Silicon Valley or a successful company such as Facebook, Google or Instagram,..
-You might also be interested in the sharing economy, or a company within the sharing economy that has developed quickly.
-Or what about talking about Millenials or any movement connected to your generation, like "Fridays for Future" or any urban tribe you belong to or you know?
-You can also write about any NGO (charity) that you or members of your family support.
3. Obviously, the first thing we need to do in an informative essay is...get informed! First, do some research. Then, select the most important information and summarise it in no more than 200 hundred words.
4. Remember you need:
-introduction: What organisation am I talking about?
-body: main facts (how it began, its history, achievements, what makes it special...
-closing: Summarise the main points and make a personal comment.
5. When do you have to hand it in? Wednesday 13th May.
Type your essay!
